To ALL Employees,

Club Update PART 4 – “FREEDOM DAY ANOTHER MONTH AWAY…MAYBE!”

Hello everyone, I was really hoping that this update went out on Monday to tell everyone to check their rosters and get ready to come back to work! But unfortunately the Delta Variant has other ideas and the NSW Government has had to make yet another tough decision about extending the lockdown. So as it stands we are in lockdown until 12:01am on Saturday the 28th of August.

I know this is going to be a difficult time for all of us, and for some it will be tougher than others. I encourage you to reach out to each other and check in when you can to help keep our spirits up. I hate to admit it, but there is only so many options on Netflix! Personally, I’m binging on The Blacklist, two seasons down only six more to go! When I’m not on Netflix its Billions on Stan (it made me buy lotto tickets for the first time in a long time). Both are just escapist BS I know, but at least it keeps my mind off lockdown. Home schooling is coming along nicely, at least that’s what the kids tell me! I did spend last night at the hospital with my son after he had micro-surgery on his thumb….let’s just say his idea of arts and crafts home school style didn’t work out well. There is only one winner between an 11 year old and a Stanley knife – if anyone is wondering, I didn’t give him permission to use it!

There has been some good news from the Federal Government with an increase to both of the Disaster Payments – up to $450 (from $375) and $750 (from $600). Again, I hope that you are all taking advantage of this to help you get through.

For those that are accessing your leave entitlements can you please make sure that you confirm with either Di or myself by Monday each week that you still need this or your situation has changed.

REMEMBER:
The Club will be flexible in allowing you to take whatever leave you may need. You can access either annual leave or long service leave at full pay, half pay or even enough hours to help get you through will be accommodated to help in any way the Club can to alleviate any additional financial pressure.

Just another reminder about getting vaccinated. If you are eligible then I encourage you to make an appointment as soon as possible if you haven’t already. The more people in our community that are vaccinated the faster the world as we know it will return to normal and the Government will have the confidence to lift restrictions and let us get on with our lives. The extended lockdown means there is more time to get fully vaccinated if you have had your first jab! I have included the link to the COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility Checker for you to visit if you need any more information or to find a location to have the vaccine and book an appointment.

Employee Assistance Program

The Club would also like to take this opportunity to remind you of its Employee Assistance Program. This is a free and confidential counselling service, available to you if you feel this would be of benefit to you. You may call them on 1300 727 308.

We hope you continue to keep yourself safe during this difficult period and we look forward to seeing you back at work as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely
