Club Update PART 3 – “LOCKDOWN EXTENSION CONTINUES to 11:59pm on the 30th of JULY”
Hello everyone, I hope that you are all staying safe and well and taking care of yourselves and your families as best you can. For those home schooling, hang in there, keep smiling and pray that the Wi-Fi doesn’t go down or Zoom doesn’t crash again – the kids can smell fear! It is a difficult time for us all while we deal with the “lockdown we had to have” but we have to believe that this will be the last and we will be back to normal soon. Stay patient, stay inside, follow the public health orders and do the right thing to play your part in getting the lockdown lifted and us all back to work.
For those that I have been in contact with already and have asked for your help, I say thank you and appreciate your support at such a strange time – it is real reminder to me of the quality of staff that we have and how connected you all are with our Club. For those staff that I have made a plan with and then had to change that plan, I apologise! I am at the mercy of the NSW Government and we are all at the mercy of COVID-19 and the Delta strain.
If you want to get vaccinated and you are eligible then I encourage you to make an appointment as soon as possible if you haven’t already. The more people in our community that are vaccinated the faster the world as we know it will return to normal and the Government will have the confidence to lift restrictions and let us get on with our lives. I have included the link to the COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility Checker for you to visit if you need any more information or to find a location to have the vaccine and book an appointment.
COVID-19 Disaster Payment – REMINDER OF ELIGIBILITY CHANGES AND LINK
Some of the rules around eligibility for GREATER SYDNEY have recently been changed in-line with the Public Health Orders being extended so I encourage you all to revisit the Services Australia Link below to familiarise yourself with the NSW Eligibility Rules before you make your next claim.
If you satisfy these conditions, I encourage you to apply for the COVID-19 Disaster Payment. The payments commenced from the second week of the stand-down. From the 18th of July 2021 all payments will be re-occurring and automated until the end of the lock-down period so you won’t have to go through the process every week.

For those staff that have leave entitlements available and you wish to access them please consider your options and email myself or Di Denner on firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. Make sure you take into consideration the eligibility rules of COVID-19 Disaster Payment before making a request for any leave to be paid out.
The Club will be flexible in allowing you to take whatever leave you may need. You can access either annual leave or long service leave at full pay, half pay or even enough hours to help get you through will be accommodated to help in any way the Club can to alleviate any additional financial pressure.
We will contact staff that are rostered for work commencing Saturday the 31st of July from Wednesday the 28th of July when we return to the office. Again, if your circumstances have changed and you are not available in the days and weeks following re-opening please ensure that you email Melissa Terry on email@example.com so she is aware for rostering purposes. I will also provide another official update to you via text on any restrictions that may be in place when we do re-open.
Those of you who may be required to attend the Club prior to re-opening to assist with preparations will be contacted directly with the necessary information. All future rosters will be posted at the club as normal, however please be aware that trading conditions once we re-open are uncertain and roster changes may be required to be made on a daily basis in response to the previous day’s trade.
Employee Assistance Program
