Some light at the end of a long tunnel.

We hope you’re all keeping safe and well.

Woonona Bulli RSL are excited to let you know that after 11 weeks of strict lockdown the NSW Government finally unveiled its roadmap to reopening last Thursday. It is anticipated that we will be allowed to open our doors sometime in mid-October which is still potentially another 5 weeks away. What this means for the Club, is that we will have had our doors closed for 16 weeks and 80 of our staff have been stood down without meaningful employment. It is fair to say that they are all very keen to get back to work and start to feel some kind of normality again and engage with our members and the community.

From what we know so far based on the advice provided by the NSW Government and
NSW Health is that certain freedoms will only apply to those in our community that are fully vaccinated.

In preparation for reopening we want to advise everyone that the Club intends to comply with whatever laws, health orders and conditions the NSW Government imposes. This will mean that all members, guests, visitors, staff, management and contractors will all need to have received both doses of a Covid-19 vaccination and be able to provide proof of vaccination before being allowed to enter the Club or the gym.

In addition to the vaccination requirement both the Club and the gym will have density restrictions imposed. These restrictions are not new to us as we have been dealing with them on and off for the past 18 months since the pandemic began so we will be prepared. Due to our large outdoor spaces we are well positioned to cater for our members and guests with one person per 2sqm and standing and drinking permitted outside. We look forward to these spaces being fully utilised once we are open especially during the warmer months to come! In addition to the density restrictions we will take all necessary steps to ensure that we are providing the safest environment we can for all of our staff, members and guests when you visit our Club.

Club management is developing our reopening plan and looking forward to being able to provide as many of our usual offerings as we can leading up to the festive season and into the new year. We will keep you updated on all developments in the weeks ahead.

On behalf of the Board, management and staff, we ask for your understanding and patience during the weeks and months after reopening while we adjust to life under the new restrictions imposed on us.

We can’t wait to welcome you back and encourage you all to get fully vaccinated as soon as possible so we can reach that 70% target sooner so we can all enjoy these freedoms!

Yours sincerely,

Michael Brennan
